Open Play ~ Theme Events

Theme Nights at Mahj on Main

A little theme. A lot of Mahj. 💚

Our Theme Nights put a fun twist on Open Play! Each event includes 2 hours of American Mahjong, along with light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Come dressed for the theme, gather your favorite Mahj friends, and enjoy a night that's a little different from your usual game.

Theme Nights are designed for players who already know how to play American Mahjong. No instruction will be provided.

September — School Spirit Mahj 🏈
Game day meets Mahj day! Wear your favorite school, team gear, or team colors and bring a little friendly rivalry to the table. Whether you're cheering for your alma mater or your favorite team, come ready to show your spirit and play some Mahj!

October — Trick or Treat Mahj 🎃
Will you choose a Trick or a Treat? Our Trick tables will feature Mischief Mahj, with playful twists and surprises throughout the game. Prefer a Treat? Those tables will allow blanks and other specialty play for a fun change from traditional American Mahjong. Costumes and festive attire are encouraged!

November — Gilmore Girls Mahj ☕🍂
Where you lead, we will follow… straight to the Mahj table. Welcome to our own little corner of Stars Hollow! Grab your coffee, channel your favorite Gilmore Girl, and settle in for coffee, conversation, and plenty of Mahj.

Because one trip to Stars Hollow simply isn't enough, Gilmore Girls Mahj will be offered on three days at different times, giving you several chances to join us. Expect cozy fall touches, Gilmore-inspired snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, plenty of fast-talking fun, and maybe a little friendly debate over Team Dean, Team Jess, or Team Logan.

Oy with the tiles already! ☕🀄
